100 Heroes Needed: Winter Ticket Giveaway
Each presenting whole blood or platelet donor to ARUP Blood Services donor centers in Sandy and Salt Lake City will receive a movie ticket good for one of several theaters along the Wasatch Front. This fun life-saving promotion starts Monday, December 21, 2009 and will last for the first 1,000 presenting donors so don’t wait too long to come in to ARUP Blood Services!
The winter time is traditionally a very difficult time to collect blood because of vacations, holidays, sickness and the loss of high school blood drives. Between Christmas and New Years is often the most difficult week of the year because very few places are willing to hold blood drives during this time of year.
ARUP Blood Services needs 100 donors a day to meet the needs of the hospitals. We also need 20 platelet donors each day. ARUP is the sole blood provider to University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, Primary Children’s Medical Center, and Shriners Hospital for Children. There are 48 hospitals in Utah but these four alone use around 25 percent of the blood in the state.
Please help us maintain the blood supply during the summer and come in to donate blood at one of our donor centers in Sandy or Salt Lake City starting December 21, 2009.
